Cheetah cover photo2My debut book ‘Cheetah the Cheater’ was a project bourne out of the common misconception that it would be easy to create a children’s picture book.

Needless to say, it was actually very challenging, and immensely intricate. But it was this intricacy that drew me in, and next thing I knew, I was obsessively working on my story, with the vision of seeing it published into a real life picture book.

After being advised that agents and publishers look more favourably on work that has had a professional manuscript assessment, I approached Virginia and signed up for her services.

The feedback was incredibly helpful and detailed, and made me think about aspects of my story I never would have otherwise. The advice about the rhyming was especially helpful, and overall the assessment allowed me to refine my manuscript to a level where I was confident that it was worthy of publication.

In the end, I decided to do down the independent publishing route after assembling my own design, illustration and printing team.

After two years, the book finally went to print, and I’m extremely proud of the final result. I cannot thank Virginia and her team at Create a Kids' Book enough for their input.
